Keynote Speaker Series
At the heart of bp’s strategy is a transition to low carbon energy, where oil and gas production will get smaller over time. Starlee Sykes, Senior Vice President of bp’s Gulf of Mexico and Canada business will share her perspective on bp’s strategy to pivot from an international oil company to integrated energy company and the role of the Gulf of Mexico in delivering a resilient and focused hydrocarbon portfolio that will be a key source of earnings to drive bp’s transformation. With a relentless focus on safety as well as advances in digital and technology, Sykes will share how the Gulf of Mexico business will continue to develop existing projects such as its world class Mad Dog 2, which will see the delivery of the new floating production platform Argos in early 2022, making it bp’s fifth operated platform in the Gulf of Mexico and help the region grow production from the current level of 350,000 bpd to 400,000 bpd by the middle of the decade.
