Hydraulic fracturing continues to play a very large role in many onshore and offshore horizontal well developments, in both the unconventional and conventional arena. This session covers fracturing design, flowback, monitoring and evaluation. Advances in mathematical modeling, numerical simulation, experimental research, and AI-based methodology will be discussed. Case studies from several North American and Chinese unconventional plays are presented illustrating the application of hydraulic fracturing related technologies for understanding of fracture growth rates and fracturing performance. This session should be of interest to those working in developments with horizontal wells and multi-stage fracturing.
