Shaping the Future: Offshore Wind Growth in the United States
Thursday, 5 May
Keynote Speaker Series
Following in the steps of several individual states adopting clean energy requirements, on 29 March 2021 the U.S. Administration established the goal of deploying 30 gigawatts of offshore wind energy by 2030. In developing offshore wind, will a massive confluence rapidly emerge across societal, economic, and environmental forces that will move the country onwards towards energy transition? Current demands for timely development of offshore wind may not be wholly compatible with the regulatory and development pace at which past projects have proceeded. This session will explore new opportunities for the existing offshore energy industry in the U.S. to support advancing development. Panelists will discuss the ongoing investment into the U.S. offshore wind infrastructure and plans for supporting future deployments.
