Advances in Offshore Geotechnics

Significant advances are being made in offshore geotechnics, particularly in the area of foundation design and installation. These advances are driven by the need for innovation, to keep costs competitive, for both hydrocarbon and renewables developments. The session includes study of rock berms for pipeline restraint, prediction of pile installation by vibro driving and its impact on pile capacity, as well as changes to the ISO/API design codes which have been reconciled with the PISA framework. This session will showcase such advances and provide an opportunity to re-evaluate best practices in offshore geotechnics.
